Curriculum Overview

Threshold Divison: Ages 3-8

Child in dance class

For the beginning student, we offer three primary courses of study: pre-dance (3 to 6 years), pre-Ballet (6 to 8 years), and Tap/Jazz (5 to 8 years). Le Studio maintains, as do all professional ballet schools, that classical ballet technique is not for the child under 6 years of age. For more detailed information, class times, etc.,please visit our threshold curriculum page.

Student Division: 8 years through professional

Student in dance class

Classical Ballet, beginning at 8 years, is offered to those mature enough to begin learning the fundamentals upon which almost all theatrical dance is based. After four years of study girls usually begin pointe technique. Because the accomplished ballet dancer performs not only the classics, but modern and contemporary works as well, jazz and tap classes are highly recommended. For more detailed information, class times, etc., please visit our student curriculum page.

Adult Division:

Woman in dance class

This division offers a wide variety of classes for those who simply want to begin or continue training for health, recreation, and self-enrichment.
