Musical Theatre Audition Workshop

Broadway performer Valerie Perri

(Evita, West Side Story, Gypsy, Jesus Christ Superstar,

I Do, I Do, The World Goes Round, Man of La Mancha,

Annie Warbucks, City of Angels, I Love You, You're Perfect,

Now Change and Jerome Robbins' Broadway)

will be back this summer with her

Musical Theatre Audition Workshop.

Join Valerie to learn her secrets in self-presentation,

headshots and resumes, song preparation,

movement, speech, makeup and cold readings.

At the end of the sessions, a panel of professionals

will critique each student's auditioning technique.

Valerie has also arranged a special discount on

headshots from CBS photographer Cliff Lipson.

TWO NEW CLASSES! 

Contemporary Dance Class

Thursdays • 7:30-9:00pm

This class, a fusion of modern, jazz, and ballet, emphasizes artistry and musicality, while it challenges the dancer to move in new, unconventional ways.  Joe's style is often both fluid and stilted, organic and sensuous yet technical.  He blends an innovative vocabulary of movement with emotion and focus on performance. Designed for intermediate students, previous experience with jazz and/or modern dance is helpful.

Jazz Funk

Saturdays • 1:00-2:00pm

This class is an open jazz-funk based class, including a wide range of styles. It involves strengthening basic jazz technique, while focusing in jazz-funk, rock, alternative, commercial, West/East African, and pop. This is a high impact & eclectic class open to students eager to increase their dance vocabulary.

Yoga with Amy Kieczykowski

Vinyasa Yoga Flow
with Amy Kieczykowski, RYT

Amy is a nationally registered Yoga Alliance teacher. She has completed four teacher trainings, the most recent two in the Ashtanga Vinyasa tradition. She also enjoys studying Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, primarily focusing on the 2nd pada.

Amy teaches a strong, creative and progressive Vinyasa (with a dash of mind-body work of Pilates concentrated focus on core strength thrown in for good measure) set to great music. Her classes are challenging and offer a dynamic blend of poses, influenced by an Ashtanga style. Amy strives to make each of her classes a rhythmic moving meditation allowing her students to develop flexibility, strength and grace as well as allowing them to captivate self-awareness and acceptance. She is firm yet fun in her teaching style. Amy’s classes are energetic, upbeat, and of course, deliciously SWEATY.  Forever a student, Amy is grateful to occasionally play the role of a teacher and share her love for the sweaty rigors of Vinyasa with others.  Come play!
